Apple Mac’s in their various flavours are the the staple choice of many Internet marketers. However one problem that many Mac users face is the inability to run Windows programs on the Mac platform. don’t get me wrong you do have options for example parallels and VM Ware, but then you still need to have a licensed copy of Microsoft windows and this all costs money. The good news is there is another option and it’s free, but it is a little bit complicated to set up. You may or may not have heard of WINE but it’s an application for any Mac using an Intel processor which will allow you to run Windows programs on the Mac platform. I found this great video on you tube that takes you through all of the necessary steps for installing WINE and if you’re a frustrated Mac user who wants to use Internet marketing software developed for PCs, then you’re in for a right treat!

The advantage of using wine over parallels and VM Ware as well is that you don’t need to have a Windows license and it will run software much better than running in a virtual environment. This is great news for all of you people who want to get hold of the software that I develop, but may have been put off by the expense of parallels or VM Ware and also the added requirement of getting a Windows license.

so take the plunge and start running native Windows programs on your Mac.

Make Money Online For Free Using Open Source Software

Have you ever considered using open source software to make money online for free?

Most Internet Marketers make money online by promoting affiliate products with article marketing, whilst this is a good idea, so many are leaving money on the table when they could be profiting from selling their own products. The people making the most money online are those who have their own products and are using people like you to promote them. If you really want to do well then you should look at making your own product and it doesn’t have to be hard and you can make money online for free, there are several options open to you and the good news is that you can create your own product for free.

Make money Online for free open source options

What I’m talking about is using open source software to develop a product, you are most possibly familiar with Open Office, the great free alternative to Microsoft office, there is also Google Docusments. You can use applications like these to create your own Ebooks and Presentations. Most people choose ebooks as an option. However with a marketplace saturated with such products, they are much harder to sell than than a video course for example. A video course also has a higher perceived value too, so rather than selling an ebook for a few dollars, you could be selling a video course for a couple of hundred dollars. Do you see the logic here?

Make money online for free with open source programming languages

Another option to consider is developing software, there are applications like Autohotkey and Autoit, which are free and have been used to make some great commercial applications. Sick Submitter is a successful commercial product created with the free open source software “Autoit” and is a fantastic example. A good strategy would be to develop a product and offer a slimmed down version of it to subscribers for free. This will have the benefit of helping you to build your list and you can also offer the full version for a reasonable fee. I use this strategy and it works very well.

Don’t worry if you are not a programmer, you can always hire someone like me to develop products for you. Sure it will possibly cost you a couple of thousand dollars to do so, but you can potentially make many times your investment back. Another idea would be to JV with a programmer and then you will not have to come up with the development costs and you can split sales 50/50, this is something to consider. (Please note however that I personally will only work with Internet Marketers who have a good track record and a list of considerable size.)
The give away product idea is a very good strategy and as long as the product is good, then many people will will want to upgrade to a more advanced version of your software. Even if you are only selling the upgrade for a small amount, if the product goes viral then you could potentially make some really good money.

Using free open source software to create products has made me thousands of dollars and I have been head hunted by several high profile Internet Marketers around the world.This simple strategy has changed my life and delivers a constant recurring income online, maybe it’s time for you to consider doing the same? The beauty of this strategy is that you can make money online for free and you don’t have to invest in expensive third party products to do well.

Market Samurai

This is a very powerful tool that enables you to examine your niche in detail. It provides the information you need a macro level, you can examine your competitors, search volumes, organic and paid competition, back links, domain authority and much more. It costs $149, but you can signup for a free seven day trial and at the end of it are given the opportunity to purchase the software for less than $100. The great thing about market Samurai is that even after the trial expires you can continue to use the keyword research module. If you have the resources I recommend that you purchase it because it’s a great application and will save you loads of time in your research.

Stealth keyword competition analyser

This great application was developed by Alex Safie, it will take the output from the Google keyword tool and will reveal potential keyword phrases which would be good to you to target. A recommended resource and for $17 it’s a steal.

My Google suggest tool

This is a great little application I developed, it takes a seed keyword phrase and generates a long list of long tail phrases which you can then put to market Samurai or the Google keyword tool and it’s also free.

Nichegenerator lite (sign up to my list to download)

This software helps you to come up with ideas and niches to explore and helps you to gauge the competition, find content and much more. The software was developed to cover the entire Internet marketing life cycle, but the free version just covers the keyword research phrase.

Goal based keyword tool

Free at the moment, this tool searches goal-based sites and reveals keyword phrases which you are unlikely to find with traditional research methods, it will uncover some true gems.

Product creation

Having your own product is always going to be better than selling someone else’s. Here is a list of free and paid tools you can use to create your first product

Google documents

With Google documents you can create a PDF document to sell, you can also use the presentation feature and prepare a presentation which you can record and distribute online.

Ubot Studio

Ubot studio is a great tool with which you can make your own Internet marketing software which you can then compile and sell as products if you so choose.

The standard version cost $245 but with the discount FANTASTIC199, you can get the software for $199. I have made thousands with the software and if you can afford it I recommend that you get hold of it..

Magix Movie Editor Pro

With this great software you can create visually stunning videos quickly and easily and for $99 it really is a bargain.

Camtasia studio

The industry standard for creating presentations and training videos. A bit costly if you’re starting out but an essential part of the Internet marketers Toolkit.

Camstudio
The free open source alternative to Camtasia. I haven’t personally used it as I have Camtasia, but for the Internet marketer with limited resources then this may be a good option.

Autohotkey

A great free macro-based language which allows you to record actions within your browser. I used Autohotkey to develop software which made me several thousand dollars and got me into the position where I could at last purchase all of the tools that I wanted.

Autoit

A great open source programming language, I use it to develop software for MySpace and browser-based applications. Not really for the novice, but well worth considering if you want to learn programming.

Imacros

A good tool for automation, it comes in a format of being a plug-in for browsers and supports all the major web browsers.

Website design

Artisteer

A great visual theme designer for WordPress blogger and Joomla. The standard version costs $49.95 and it’s great for making stylish looking websites in a flash.

Flexsqueeze

A simple awesome customisable theme for WordPress. I use it on most of my sites, it’s easy to use and the layouts look spectacular

Optimizepress

A customisable theme for WordPress, many people rave about it but to be honest I prefer Flexsqueeze.

Website promotion

Backlinker Professional

I developed this software to help me to stay focused and to make the most of my time working online. It has several modules which will help you to get ranked and build traffic to your website. It delivers spectacular results and is a very popular program.

Commenting robot

The software finds edu, gov, commentluv and recent comments blogs to post on. Again it’s a tool which keeps you focused and will help you to get links from high PR domains.

Powerpingfm poster

This tool will take multiple Pingfm accounts and automate posting to all of your web 2.0 accounts. It does this on autopilot 24 hours a day and is quite simply a brilliant tool for promoting your website and offers.

Tweetmagnate

Tweetmagnate is a tool for managing and growing your twitter following. It can add twitter followers by user, keyword and and unfollows people not following you back. The software uses multi-threading, so all of these activities happen at the same time

How to build your Twitter Traffic quickly

I am a presenter on Steven Essa’s Big Fat Marketing show and on Monday’s show covered using Twitter for building web traffic to your site. In this post I will teach you how to link your blog to your Twitter account and how to update your account frequently with interesting content with Twitterfeed this will result in regular twitter traffic to your blog. There is a lot of merit in using Twitter to drive traffic to your site and it should form an essential part of your overall Internet Marketing strategy. Listed below are tips which will help you to make the most of using Twitter.

• Create an attractive Twitter profile Make sure your profile looks as authentic and interesting as possible. To this end create a background for your profile. You can download free backgrounds from http://www.twitbacks.com/ the free backgrounds may be a little basic for your needs, but you can easily customise them by using photoshop or a free program like paint.net. Also make sure that you include a photograph of yourself and never use the default twitter avatar, traditionally accounts like this are associated with spam and that’s something that we don’t want.
• Use keywords in your profile – Make sure that you put the keyword phrases that you intend to target in your twitter profile. so for example, I’m targeting people who are interested in “Internet marketing software” so I make sure but this keyword phrase is in my bio.
• Link to your blog – Link to your main blog from your twitter profile and people who are interested in you will visit your site via this link.
• Set up automatic posting – we want to our twitter profile to be actively working for us each day, now would be a physical impossibility for us to manually post to twitter 24 hours a day, but with the aid of a service like twitterfeed.com we can automatically get our twitter profile updated whenever we make a post on our blog, or from RSS feeds discussing our subject matter. • Follow the followers of Whales – Following stars in your niche is the best way of building your following. You tend to find that when you follow users based on keyword phrases, you pick up a lot a spammers and bots. These types of users are predominant in the search stream. However if you add people who are following well known people in your niche you will get good results. Take a look at the screenshot below and you can see how effective this method is.
